In keeping with the organization’s mission of empowering individuals and thus enacting change on multiple levels, LEAD will share its triad model with South African NGOs – all of whom receive significant funding from companies based in the country as a part of the Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) mandate, a program launched by the South African government to redress the inequalities of Apartheid. LEAD will send a team of U.S. MBA candidates each winter to meet with local NGOs to learn the specific challenges facing these organizations. Rather than attempt to provide a quick fix to these issues, the MBA-candidates will be charged with teaching the triad model with the goal of empowering the organizations to determine the right solutions to more effectively deliver on their mission.
